Ok, so I have the cutest pink Coach diaper bag that I just LOVE to take with me everywhere I go. I’m not all that into name brands and everything, but once I saw the Coach diaper bag, I just couldn’t imagine life without it. So it would seem that my loving husband and sister both chipped in and got me the diaper bag as my 30th birthday gift.

I couldn’t wait to put it to use. I wouldn’t even take it to the hospital with me for fear that someone would steal it. I kept it in the box until the second I was ready to use it. (I would go in everyday and smell the leather and make sure it was still in the box… you know, to make sure no one broke into my house to steal my Coach diaper bag!!!)

Since I have had diaper bag experiences before, I knew that by using the diaper bag as your sole bag that a mother really only gets about 10% of the bag. Thats for my Coach Signature Stripe Mini Skinny attached to my keys, my chapstick, lipgloss and compact. The other 70% is for the baby; wipes, diapers, binkies, formula, bottles, extra clothes, toys, changing pad, blankets, etc.

Wait a minute! That doesn’t add up to 100%, so where does the other 20% come from? How about your husband and other children…

Today on a visit to the Kennedy Space Center; I had my daughters stuffed dog Shasta (you will get to know Shasta on a regular basis), her toy/candy fan that she just HAD to have, her water, her snacks, my husbands sunglasses, his water AND his coke, the camera and a portable fan (in case we got hot). It made me realize today that the diaper bag is not really a diaper bag but a portable storage facility. If you are lucky enough like me to have a very decent sized one, then you can take on the biggest of family outtings…
