Reasons to be Thankful #7

Today I am thankful for my daughters teachers. All the teachers in the past and all the teachers in our future. These hardworking individuals are helping to shape my girls into becoming hardworking woman.

They love my girls like their own. God has given these teachers to be not only as role models for my girls but to be my friends as well. I am so thankful that we have met.

My girls LOVE their teachers as well. They have learned alot from them. Not just math, reading but also being supportive, how to be a team player, decisive and responsible for their own actions.

So Thank you for being our teachers!

Reasons to be Thankful #6

Today I am very thankful for all my friends.

I am thankful for my close friends who I see everyday.

I am thankful for my longtime friends, who I don’t get to see as often but when we do, its like we were never apart.

I am thankful for my friends whose kids go to the same schools as my daughters (then we can chit chat at pickup and drop off).

I am thankful for my Facebook friends, who I may not recognize out in public, but they can make me LOL and give them thumbs up.

I am particularly thankful all the people; friends, acquaintances, foes, co-workers, and strangers that God puts in my path. Without all these people I would not be the person I am today!

Reasons to be Thankful #5

Today I am very thankful for my grandparents. When I was growing up they lived 3 houses down from my parents house (they still do). Whenever my mom got frustrated with us or we got frustrated with them, we went to grandmas house.

I have always had such a close relationship with them and am so blessed that my kids can as well.

Everytime we get together we tell all kinds of stories from our childhood. I love that my grandma is up with technology. I can Facebook her and/or email her.

My grandparents are the coolest and I love them soo much!

PS I am really thankful for grandma’s deviled eggs. They are the BEST!

Reasons to be Thankful #4

Today I am very thankful for my parents. They have taught me everything I know.

My mom: My mom taught me how to not be selfish. She is always giving her time and energy to anyone who might need help. She never thinks of herself and is the most unselfish person I know. She would do anything to help you.

My dad: He taught me everything I know about how to be a smart ass. He can turn any situation into a positive one and knows the right joke to tell at the right time. He taught me skills that I carry on and make me an independent woman.

My parents have taught me so much; how to care for others, how to help others, how to care for my family. I love them all my heart and thankful we are so close.

Thanksgiving Project

Published by admin on November 12th, 2012 - in Thanksgiving

Last year our family decided to volunteer our time on Thanksgiving. Fortunately, our church was making Thanksgiving Dinners for seniors, families less fortunate and others who wanted to spend Thanksgiving with somebody.  This year our Church is doing boxed dinners instead of a hot meal.

To keep with the tradition of doing good on Thanksgiving, I was searching for something for my kids and I to do on Thanksgiving. I was reading a book to my 4 year old that talked about Community Helpers when I had my idea; We would make some homemade desserts for our local Police department and Fire departments. This was our way to say “Thank You” to our community helpers who had to work on Thanksgiving!

We are so excited! We are making apple pie, pumpkin pie, cupcakes and cookies. We plan on delivering them to the stations on Thanksgiving Day and telling them how Thankful we are for them.

I am so excited that my girls chose this as our Thanksgiving Project this year! They are more excited because they were able to choose what they wanted to do.
